At the request of his parents, Nathanael Greene Historical Foundation will accept donations in remebrance of Bernie and his pursuit of Traditional Handmade Pottery here in Greensboro.
As many of you came to know and can see on our website (www.NatGreene.org), Bernie particularly had a gift of working with children - something we would like to see continuedin his honor.
We would like to thank all of those that choose to donate in his memory and invite all to come to our website to sign in for a newsletter regarding Nathanael Greene and a special remembrance gathering (in the planning stage now).
We will sadly miss Bernie but can rejoice in the vitality that he breathed into his life and his works.
Greensboro
has been involved in a number of Art and Community centric activities
since the early 70's. In 1994, The Nathanael Greene Historical
Foundation (NGHF) was recognized as a formal 501 (c)3 chartered with
the support and preservation of cultural activities and history in the
area. In 2005, NGHF refined its scope to develop a well received
annual conference and arts festival called the "Creative Communities
Conference" and the "Art Blast on the Mon".
Now in 2008, the
Creative Communities has been expanded to a series of Monthly Seminars
known as "Second Saturdays" designed to discuss emerging activities
and developments in sustainable communities, arts education, networks,
co-op marketing and a number of growing areas valuable to rural
communities seeking to attract artists, services, and individuals to
their community.
